ABSTRACT

Traditional black and white film emulsions all differ slightly in the way they respond to different portions of the visual spectrum. The most important tip is to always shoot in color. Although having said that, the people do need to use the most appropriate conversion methods to get the best black and white photographs from their color files. The advantage of using an adjustment layer to apply a black and white conversion is that the people can quickly convert an image to black and have the option to play with the blending modes to refine the appearance of the black and white outcome. As with other image adjustments, the Black and White adjustment has a presets menu at the top from where the people can select a number of shipped preset settings. Black and white printing should be easy, but if the people are printing from RGB files they meet the exact same issues that affect normal color printing.
