BEHIND THE PICTURE Most people think that the process of creating an image is the responsibility of the camera operator. For the single camera operator, that is largely true. But in the studio, where the entire environment is contrived, the final image is usually the outcome of a combination of different people’s talents. The design of the setting, the way it has been lit, and the angle selected by the director can all be controlled to provide the appropriate conditions for maximum impact on the audience.
