ABSTRACT

This chapter begins with the Timeline animation, shows how to use it in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional animations, and discusses the Frame animation. The Timeline animation is the most common in the animation world; it is the standard type of animation in many existing animation products. The concept behind the Animation panel is that each layer in the Photoshop document is represented with a layer in the Animation panel, and each layer includes sublayers in which animators can edit the object properties over the timeline. When animators create an animation in Photoshop, they create two keyframes that include in-between frames that display the gradual change of the object from the first keyframe to the last one. The optimization process for animation is very important, especially when animators would like to play their animation on the web or mobile devices.
