ABSTRACT

Adobe After Effects (AEPs) is the part of the Adobe Creative Suite that enables animators to create video production and animation, especially for TV broadcasting, video animation, cinematography and DVD production. One of the most important integration features between Photoshop and AEP is the support for importing Photoshop layers into AEP. This chapter shows how to integrate Photoshop with Adobe AEP by taking the PSD files directly into Adobe AEP while preserving Photoshop layers and objects such as three-dimensional objects, video layers, text layers, masks and styles. AEP supports different options when importing Photoshop layers; these options are related to how AEP will handle the imported Photoshop layers. The AEP project is saved in the AEP format and can contain multiple AEP compositions. Presets are arranged in the Effects and Presets panel, which animators can display from the Windows menu. The Export Video command in the File menu is the easiest method for creating video from the AEP animation.
