ABSTRACT

This chapter starts with a discussion of each light type’s properties and the options associated with it. Light is the main language between the human eye and the objects around it. Light is an important function not only in displaying the object, but also in rendering the object. The Infinite light is a surrounding light that gives a global light effect to the object, such as sunlight or a landscape light. The three-dimensional light position tools are helpful to direct the light to specific areas in the model or change the current light position. The Infinite light is the light most suitable to mimicking natural environment light. Applying the Infinite light can be done in several ways, such as the main light source in the previous exercise, or by adding it as a global light for the scene before adding more directed light.
