ABSTRACT
The focal length of a lens is the distance from the center of the glass elements that make up the lens to the image plane. Focal lengths in
camera lenses are generally measured in millimeters. This measurement is made when the lens is focused to infinity or the farthest possible point visible because the positions of the glass elements shift slightly when you focus the lens (Figure 3.2).
