ABSTRACT
Photographing and printing shiny objects present unique problems that the landscape and natural history photographer rarely encounter. With most images of natural subjects, we consider the reflectivity of the objects and their relative illumination to determine exposure, development and printing. Although the subject brightness range may be high, it is normally possible to expose and print an image with a literal rendering on paper within a reflection density range of 2.0.
