ABSTRACT
Occasionally, in the heat of the moment, one forgets the golden rules of composition. These rules, as applied to the image in the viewfinder, include scouting around the main subject for distractions and omissions. These distractions can often seem harmless enough at full aperture but zap into focus on the negative, complicating matters further. A recent studio session with an amateur model proved to be just such an occasion.
