Hands are not super-diffi cult to rig for the animator, really, depending on the hand setup-there just might be a lot of controls. Th e trick is to fi nd out how the animator wants to deal with the digits, give them what they need, and not over-complicate it. Looking at the storyboards would be the fi rst course of action. What is actually needed? Th e second course of action would be to talk to the animator. What would be some methods that you might consider? 1. Set driven key for stored simple hand movements. If all that

is needed is a few simple hand poses, since the character does very little with his hands, then a set driven key for those stored poses may be all that is required. We’ll start with this method. Incidentally, this might be all that is used for a game character.
