ABSTRACT

Shooting with multiple cameras is common than ever before due to the low cost of cameras and acquisition sources. Vegas Pro allows for a couple of different ways to edit multicam, either through third-party plug-in tools such as Ultimate S, infinitiCam, or DuoCam or via the installed multicamera functions. This chapter discusses only the functions built into Vegas Pro. Vegas allows for toggling back and forth between external and Vegas monitoring while in multicamera mode. Multicamera editing is not part of the Vegas Movie Studio tool set, but it is quite easy to perform multicamera edits. One method is to play back the project/timeline and make a mental or paper edit decision list. Getting familiar with the assets before editing goes a long way when it comes to determining the content and feel of a project. Zoom into the timeline so that the Composite Level envelope is easily double-clicked and dragged.
