ABSTRACT

In the past, almost all commercial music was mixed by a professional recording engineer under the supervision of a producer and/or artist. Although this is still true on many levels, with the emergence of the project studio, the vast majority of production facilities have become much more personal and cost effective in nature. Additionally, with the maturation of the digital revolution, artists, individuals, labels and enthusiasts are taking the time to become experienced in the common sense rules of creative and commercial mixing in their own production workspaces.
