ABSTRACT

Lean tools serve the same purpose and are similar to tools in a tool box. There are simple Lean tools such as visual controls which, when applied to workspaces, make it easier to locate items more quickly. Lean tools help create efficiencies by solving problems and reducing waste. Learn about various Lean tools and how they are being used. Without the use of a Lean-mapping tool to evaluate the payroll process, the actions to address these assumptions would likely have nothing to do with the real problem. Mapping tools help us to visually see a process, analyze individual steps to determine their value, and identify improvement opportunities. The two most common mapping tools are process mapping and value-stream mapping. These two methods of visualizing a process are very different from basic flowcharts. Flowcharts provide a high level and simplified view of a process.
