ABSTRACT

The final chapter examines socio/political dynamics between society’s “dominant” and “submissive” elements (referred to as “doms” and “subs”). Theorists across a variety of disciplines postulate the existence of a “sadomasochistic society” as a normally hidden socio/political dimension that secretly drives human behavior. Authoritarianism and patriarchy reflect underlying sadomasochism. The concept of “choice” in psychosexual relations is explored and developed, along with other suggestions for improved relations between society’s disparate elements and power centers.
