ABSTRACT

Director Pam MacKinnon’s experience spans from new plays to classics to musicals. She directed several projects on the UCSD campus, while assist-directing Anne Bogart and Des McAnuff. She has directed eight of Edward Albee’s plays and is often referred to as the “Albee specialist.” She enjoys delving into structure and language. She works the depth of the script, scene by scene, allowing the tension to seamlessly build to a climactic moment until the revelation. She allows the characters to grow and follow their dramatic journey, and likes helping the actors find their way into that journey. Pam MacKinnon is a strong woman and a phenomenal artist.
