ABSTRACT

Over two thousand years ago, with no money and just twelve men, Jesus started the church that has now become, with 2.2 billion people, the largest organization in the world. This tri-phasic model can be further broken down into twelve keys derived from Jesus’ life as the Church’s first planter. These keys spring from the core of a leader who cared deeply and sacrificially. There can be no remarkable display of leadership, no excellence in organizational creation, and no global impact without a strongly held, deeply abiding conviction of care. It is central for all the other parts of the model, for from that caring comes the attributes needed to lead, build, and disrupt. The principles of Pauline planting, not surprisingly, track elegantly with Jesus’ Model of Impact. As expressed in the academic literature and in popular articles, Paul is celebrated as one of the greatest pioneering church planters of all time.
