ABSTRACT

Having begun in Acts 11 as a small outpost of Gentile evangelism, Antioch would soon become the main engine of the gospel. While Peter and his compatriots had set the pace in the opening frame at Pentecost, soon a new leadership team would emerge to power forward the advancement of the good news to the “uttermost parts of the earth”. Church planting is entrepreneurial by nature. It is a start-up gig. Pioneering and establishing require risk-takers. It requires those who can deal with uncertainty and shifting scenarios. Those who start with the plant may not continue with the plant. Church planters must have faith in this area. One of the ongoing miracles of establishing new churches is how God provides financially. Time and again, people see this is one of God’s most concrete ways of encouraging the planter. When there are only drops of oil left in the jar, God comes to sustain the supply.
