ABSTRACT

The implementation of the rules of phraseology doesn’t prevent the onset of difficulties related to the functioning of any human group: friendship, hostility, tensions, conflicts of interests, struggle for power, self-image issues, seduction, etc.

Although inevitable, these problems must be dealt with insofar as they could be detrimental to the care, and therefore to the patient. To that matter, one should always seek to “stick to the facts and keep away from emotions” and to “choose the right distance, not too close, not too remote”.

Franck Bernard and Hervé Musellec remind us that “Conflict is only a nuisance insofar as it leads to a dead-end. Properly dealt with, it may allow one to go forward and reinforce the alliance”.
