ABSTRACT
Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (EMHS) is a regional healthcare system serving all of central, eastern and northern Maine. EMHS has seven member hospitals and three affiliated hospitals, integrated physician groups, home health organizations, nursing homes and retirement communities, and emergency transport organizations. Its largest hospital is Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC), which has 411 acute care beds. The other six member hospitals range in size from 14 to 100 acute care beds. 54 EMMC won HIMSS’s Nicholas E. Davies Organizational Award of Excellence in 2008 55 and was named a Most Wired Hospital in 2010 for the third year. 56
