ABSTRACT

This chapter is about planning a teacher research study once a question has been formulated and refined. Various teacher research designs are explained including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods designs. A template for developing a teacher research study complete with a timeline is given with each aspect of the plan explained. Examples show the role of planning in the success of teacher research studies. Ethical issues such as confidentiality, child and parental consent, and working with human subject review boards are addressed.
