ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces infant and toddler care, the role of the caregiver and the infant and toddler growth and development. Students explore their thoughts about how they think infants and toddlers should be cared for, their questions about infants and toddlers and their beliefs about infant and toddler care. Brain development, developmentally appropriate practice and appropriate infant and toddler environments are also introduced.
