ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 provides a case study analysis showing how the concepts and principles described in various chapters, and particularly in Chapter 7, were used to contextualise an applied Blended Learning pedagogical approach to whole-of-school improvement within one school system in Japan. Following an extensive review of the Blended Learning literature to identify key conceptual elements and their associated understandings, this chapter describes how to position and design applied Blended Learning across three associated phases:

How to establish the degree to which a school is ready for improvement.

How to designing and implement a Blended Learning improvement agenda.

How to design a systematic data collection schedule for monitoring and evaluating agenda progress.
