This chapter explores some of the common data analysis techniques that can be applied to online sport studies research. As well as unpacking the meaning of analysis it broadly discusses pertinent issues relating to the classification of quantitative data and the implications for analysis. Thereafter common qualitative data analysis methods and procedures are discussed including, content and discourse analysis; Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis; narrative and thematic analysis, and grounded theory. Examples from current online sport studies research are provided throughout the chapter to help inform knowledge and to develop learning.
