Chapter 13 covers the differences of two major composers, Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss, also delving into Humperdinck and Berg. The discussion includes the difficulty of singing in legato with the angular vocal lines that all of these composers used. Also covered are ways of playing the more difficult accompaniments each composer’s style requires.
