ABSTRACT

This chapter examines a few of the essential steps the readers can take to be prepared before arriving on the job site. It presents a pre-show checklist with some suggestions on steps the readers can take to be prepared for the gig. Extra hard drives or video equipment like scan converters are more helpful in applications where the show is in a remote area and backups are not readily available. Any equipment that is larger than something the readers can carry can usually be negotiated ahead of time and supplied by the local company providing the gear. It is also important for the content to be organized and documented if the show has the potential to be remounted in the future. This is a very common occurrence on cruise ships, for instance. A show will typically be created on one ship and then distributed throughout the entire cruise line fleet.
