ABSTRACT

The use of a live camera feed can be a content source for a video layer in the same way as a piece of content. If the media server was designed to be controlled via DMX, this puts video at the controls of the console, giving the LD/programmer the ability to enable a live video input at any moment. As the popularity of media servers has grown, so has the need for better feedback at FOH, backstage, and on the lighting console. In situations where the media servers are not located next to the lighting console, the lighting programmer can be at a real disadvantage. CITP works by transmitting a layer of data for live streaming video from the media server over Art-Net, and this stream also includes layers for DMX, information for selections of fixtures, reports, and patching.
