ABSTRACT

Media servers are designed to playback digital content on a display device such as an LED wall or projection surface. These types of surfaces are usually two-dimensional (2D) flat surfaces that display the incoming video signal directly or when projected by a projector. The user interfaces of servers like Hippotizer, Catalyst, and Mbox are mainly used to preview the layers of video being composited. Both Ai and disguise allow the programmer to not only see the object being manipulated, but full-scale models of venues can be imported as well, making these servers powerful visualizers for pre-programming similar to programs like WYSIWYG, Vision, or Capture.
