ABSTRACT

This chapter provides instructions for setting up and conducting a ReducedEffort Changeover (REC) Event. Each REC Event focuses on a particular changeover on a specific machine. That changeover must be recorded on video in advance of the event, as the REC Team will watch the video during the REC process. The time required for the event depends upon the number of tasks needed to accomplish the changeover and the number of people participating in the event. During the Timeline-building process, the Changeover Experts may find additional tasks that need to be moved to the Uptime or Trash walls. While building the Timeline, the REC Team may decide to trash tasks, move tasks to uptime, and/or add new downtime or walk-to tasks. When completed, the Timeline wall represents the sequence of tasks performed by the Changeover Expert.
