ABSTRACT

The chapter summarizes the major contributions of the book. Homogenization, denationalization, and racialization are discussed as the key themes of contemporary U.S. Latinx identity formation in politics and online media. It also briefly reviews the empirical contributions of the work—including the participant observation of major Latinx conferences, interviews with stakeholders, and content analysis of digital products and media coverage. The concluding chapter also discusses the limitations of the book, recommendations for those whose work involves mobilizing Latinx voters, and future research directions.
