Modern psychology of the pre-endocrine gland period, was wont to consider temperament as an aspect of character. We saw the reference outlined in Matter’s definition, but the most detailed and valuable treatment in this connexion is undoubtedly that given by Mr. A. F. Shand in his work ‘The Foundations of Character.’
