ABSTRACT

An important norm facilitating tolerance is attachment to civic freedoms emphasizing that all citizens enjoy an equal right to their own customs, religion, and culture. Studies show that this is an important regulator of social behaviours. Important confirmation of these assumptions is also supplied in studies by Rothschild, Abdollahi, and Pyszczynski, who invited deeply religious American Christians and Iranian Shiites to participate in an experiment. Norms and values are shaped by school, the media, religion, and politics. However tend to forget that this can also be done through developing positive engagement in ways beneficial to the community. Showing that being a good and desirable person is cool leads to the exposition of such content in conditions of uncertainty.
