ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the findings in the literature about the efficacy of ketogenic and gluten-free and/or casein-free (GFCF) diets for autistics. It begins with a succinct explanation of these diets, followed by a presentation of the findings in the literature about possible therapeutic benefits that these diets might provide autistics. It then rates their efficacy and recommends a series of opportunities in which more research could be conducted in the future. This chapter concludes with a collection of insights and experiences about dietary programs from a sample of autistics.
