ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the results in the literature about the potential therapeutic benefits of music and art therapy for autistics. This chapter begins with a definition and overview of the support and then it presents the findings in the literature about its possible therapeutic benefits for autistics. A rating of the support’s efficacy for autistics and an explanation for some directions for where research can be conducted in the future are then presented. Afterwards, a collection of views from a sample of autistics about their experiences and views of music and/or art for therapeutic means is then presented.
