ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 offers synthesis and reflection on the issues raised in the preceding five chapters. Is there a Nordic exceptionalism to the conspiracy theories propagated in, and about this region? We conclude that although the Nordics have a specific style, which is sometimes less flamboyant than found elsewhere, there is no exceptionalism, no Nordic Sonderweg. Conspiracy theories have been part of Nordic history for a very long time with varying intensity, and with a variety of plots and perpetrators, as a symptom of an underlying anxiety or anger.
