ABSTRACT
Since most victims are assaulted by someone known to them, a relationship will preexist in most cases of intimate violence. Because of that, victims likely will have contact with the assailant at some point before or during the investigation. This chapter addresses the issue of continued contact with the offender, offering the reasons to be explored and understood by others. Suggestions for interviewing the victim and getting explanations for the contact will be offered.
