ABSTRACT

The first part of this chapter provides a few concluding remarks on the intersection between copyright and patent law, on the one hand, and AI, on the other hand. In particular, the creation of new rights as an option for protection will be further discussed. The second part of the chapter focuses on a future outlook and will explore a few points of attention for policy-making, as well as avenues for future research. This will include copyright exceptions for machine learning, ownership issues, and moral rights in the context of AI-generated works and inventions.
