ABSTRACT

This chapter revolves around the designer’s process for determining cues and planning for content. This process begins with the scene breakdown, a tool for understanding the dramatic action and structure of the script. The chapter moves on to discuss the creation of a cue sheet, beginning with the process of marking up the script, before moving onto suggestions for what content might be included in a cue sheet. One final section discusses how to think about content and workflow, with information on creating workflow diagrams as well as content work lists. Field research is also included, featuring an interview with projection designer and associate designer Christopher Ash.
