ABSTRACT

This chapter covers a wide range of information related to production personnel, starting with the creative team and management. The purpose of this discussion is to introduce the reader to the wide range of personnel with which a projection designer frequently collaborates. In addition to a description of each team member, the chapter includes several callout boxes that address specific methods for talking with collaborators about projection design. From this point, it addresses the prevalence of unions, guilds, and associations common to live performance, such as United Scenic Artists Local 829, IATSE, Actors’ Equity, the American Federation of Musicians, and more. Field research is also included, featuring an interview with projection designer Daniel Brodie.
