The contrasting nature of the foundational elements within musical theater choreography and concert dance choreography serves as an interesting example. It was important that the stage design reflect the thematic material of the piece that was more extensive than just a set or prop pieces. Choosing motherhood can be a difficult decision for any woman. Teaching or dancing professionally while also being a mother is unusual because the reasons above contribute to standing apart from peers, requiring different allowances, and needing different types of support.
