ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 explains to students and other researchers the essentials of annotating different kinds of sources across the curriculum. The chapter provides many examples of sources of various kinds: books, book chapters, journal articles, magazine articles, newspaper articles, encyclopedia articles/entries, online articles/blogs/podcasts, websites/webpages, videos/films/TV shows, government reports/technical reports, images/art, and dissertations. For each kind of source it includes tips for writing annotations and samples in the APA, MLA, and Chicago/CMOS. All of the five annotated bibliography types (descriptive, summative, evaluative, reflective, and combined) are represented in the examples.
