ABSTRACT

This chapter develops on Trude’s move, as part of her PhD journey, from a hermeneutic phenomenological approach to a more narrative-oriented one, guided by her growing understanding of how subjective experiences are embedded in context-rich stories. Informed by narrative dialogic principles, some of Trude’s early thoughts on these issues are put in dialogue with her own and Alec’s current thoughts. The aim is to show, through dialogue, both how dialogue can be used as a propelling force in moving a story forward and how ‘life as story’ processes and issues are entangled with human development and interaction.
