ABSTRACT

This chapter was originally published as: Klevan, T., and Grant, A. 2020. ‘Performing Wild Time: Workshopping Friendship as Critical Autoethnographic Paraversity Method.’ Critical Education, 11(1): 1-18. It focuses on our experiences of running a conference workshop on Friendship as Method in the development of scholarship. We contend that neoliberal procedural rationality around the management of time and relations can inhibit the friendship-mediated development of critical and creative academics and creative ways of generating knowledge. In the final section, we critically reflect on selected issues raised in the workshop and post-workshop discussion, from a distance of two and a half years.
