ABSTRACT

The argument mode presented here is abductive logic. This text will follow this author’s version of abduction as set out in his recent book Fictive Narrative Philosophy: How Fiction can Act as Philosophy. Notions of plausibility are discussed followed by exercises meant to bring closure to this presentation. Some critical distinctions here include the categories of coherence, completeness, and elegance of presentation. Connection with the personal worldview are set out as a critical backstop. Then, the author presents selected fiction that is philosophically oriented (fictive narrative philosophy), which students can use to assist them in constructing arguments that are plausible.
