ABSTRACT

Finding out what you believe. The methodology of the book is that one should wait until he/she has reconstructed the text in the strongest fashion possible from the author’s point of view before deciding whether or not he/she agrees with the author. Well, now is the time to engage in the process of going through such an evaluation process. This requires that one touch upon some of the self-reflective tools set out in Chapter 2. The use of statistics (induction) and fictive narrative philosophy (abduction) are put forward as options that might assist the student in addressing particular sorts of questions. The chapter follows an example from Book Eight of Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics.
