ABSTRACT

Many case-based journals have emerged in recent years, spanning the whole range of management disciplines, as well as others in fields outside of business and management. This chapter explores the arguments for developing the case for publication in case research journals. The research case can be a profile-raiser from which to draw an international audience’s attention to our teaching case. The research case differs significantly in structure in comparison to the case for teaching, and so more time will need to be invested to deconstruct the teaching case and to re-present it in a format consistent with the requirements of the case journal. Scholars based in teaching-led institutions may wish to take advantage of developing a research output from their teaching case to develop their own profiles and broaden future employability options.
