ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the role of the case study as a learning strategy for remote teaching sessions and distance learning has propelled itself to become a major feature of new ways of thinking about management education. Demand for online learning opportunities has been growing for some time, and new universities and learning institutes continue to emerge that specialise in the delivery of online and hybrid learning programmes. Real-time remote learning does come with challenges, particularly as the technology platforms required to support engagement are commonly inconsistent and unreliable in different contexts. Some established practitioners of remote and distance learning case sessions believe that it is helpful to think more modularly in terms of delivery, to consider how long each segment of altogether-time should last before moving people into breakout groups or individual time-out sessions.
