ABSTRACT

In which I invite you to imagine you are taking part in the first day of a 5-day intensive empowering mindfulness course for women. You are encouraged to draw on your intellect, intuition and what you feel in your heart and body as you read so that you can actively participate in the evocative accounts of student-teacher interactions and experience, based on teaching and research. You will likely encounter vulnerable moments and turning points that incorporate the delights and challenges involved in teaching and learning mindfulness. You are invited to join the women as they begin to appreciate that mindfulness can be both a separate practice and a natural part of life and that it can help us to nurture what we have neglected in ourselves, through thinking about our lives in a one-sided way.
