ABSTRACT

In which I begin to close the curtains on this book on empowering mindfulness for women and invite you to take a glimpse into how I came to heal the personal and professional split that guided the evolution of this book. I show how my empowering mindfulness for women-intensive course assisted me to draw on the learning gained from going through a dark night of the soul as part of my journey and how I am now positioned securely and flexibly on the spectrum of mindfulness between the poles of head and heart, academia and the field, research and teaching, intellect and nature, doing and being, validating and challenging - and masculine and feminine. As a result of writing this book, I have accepted that the time has come to come out from undercover and own my own wisdom and that this empowering mindfulness for women project needs to be birthed without compromise, drawing on a full-spectrum approach to mindfulness.
