ABSTRACT

“Remy” was a middle-aged Spanish female with schizophrenia. Coming from a Catholic household, much of the content of her delusions and hallucinations were religious in nature. This chapter describes her consultation with the authors and allows a description of some of the most typical types of symptoms experienced by individuals with schizophrenia, such as religious delusions and auditory hallucinations. This chapter will also review the importance of considering the cultural context of a patient’s symptoms.
