ABSTRACT

The cyclical nature of the model illustrates the necessity of continuously evaluating the business strategy and what the critical success factors are. As has already been discussed the dynamic environment that exists today, and probably will persist into the future, can mandate modifications to the business strategy, which in turn can impact what the right workforce is, where the right talent can be sourced, how the right people can be selected, how talent must be developed and how the organization evaluates and rewards performance. When sourcing talent organizations usually seek someone to fit a job opening. But there are also programs that source candidates based on their long-range potential, rather than a fit to a specific role. The suitability of candidates may be established based on numerous criteria and using multiple processes. Southwest Airlines uses panels of flight attendants to evaluate candidates for flight attendant openings, to determine if they will fit into the team environment.
