ABSTRACT

Contractors, consulting firms and freelancers are a source of talent that an organization might find more cost-effective or capable of doing things the organization cannot do with its own talent pool. The rapid development of technology in many fields may result in the knowledge and skills of its workforce to be inadequate to effectively utilize new resources. Using an algorithm to find information, analyze data, execute defined processes and make decisions can reduce the workload of employees. Using robots or software requires that some type of algorithm is available that can control their actions. Human decisions can also project a false intent if the basis upon which they are made does not include consideration of such things as what people might conclude from the results produced. Organizations using contracting firms should ensure the depth and breadth of those firms are adequate to perform the work required, both in the short and long term.
